What, oh. what to choose… I asked myself at least couple of times when planning my June wedding party. I am one of those spoiled brides-to-be who does not want to get married at church and in general make everything, just because I can or want to be a bit different. It is so tempting to break the rules.
Not white, creamy white, not even similar to white colour. Yes, I was tempted by the common trend to look like a normal bride, but then I realised that being normal is the last adjective I would describe myself, so my dress should fit me in every single detail. It cannot be just normal, which does not mean I would love to look like a clown. Btw I have just assumed that clowns are not normal..
Of course there are plenty of shops for brides in Dusseldorf and of course I visited two of them tempted by the shop windows decorations. At some point I always admit that online choice rules. Since I abandoned the idea to look for a normal wedding dress, I started to look for long evening dresses at one of the polish websites, which actually exist also in Germany, showroom… and here is where I found an exceptional outfit from one of the Polish atelier, that two weeks ago become my wedding dress. So Szyjemy sukienki atelier is based in Warsaw in one of the nicest and centrally located districts. I am not a fashion victim neither the specialist however I would say they follow the fashion style from the 50’s.
I was lucky I think, the silky material is just perfect and the complete form stunning, romantic and ideal for the wedding, for me, bride to be. I let other people criticise my choice and slowly getting use to the fact that I can only make myself happy for such choices.
Another difficult choice for someone who does not enjoy shopping. I would rather buy everything online, but I am aware of the fact that sometimes it is just too complicated not to try or touch things in real before the consumption:) I decided to follow the retro, silver trend with black stones which is just amazing. Polish brand are extremely interesting, sometimes I think it is such a shame that in countries like Germany people does not want products with more colours, fantasy, quirkiness. Kruk jewellery has it all.
I can only say TO BE CONTINUED as even if I know exactly what I want, I cannot easily get it. I found a lot of inspiration on US or Australian brand websites like:
Grace loves lace
Shoes with lace, stones, not too tall, but my question is, where can I find them in Germany?
Braided braided braided midhair braided. Nothing more!
For sure I learned that it is good to believe your first feeling about the choices you want to make. My wedding dress is the best example and other wedding outfit choices proof it. The only thing I truly avoid during wedding party preparation is to look at Pinterest as it is a never ending story and at the end you loose your precious passing through one theme to another and at the end you realise you do not even look at the wedding outfits:)!
